About Us

SuperOx Japan LLC was established in 2011 as the R&D Company. Its major activity is focused on the materials research and development of commercially sound technology and applications for energy related oxide materials with superior properties. Our interest includes materials and architectures for the high-Tc wires of the second generation (2G HTS) and their applications in variety of practical devices to aid sustainable development of human society and to meet the growing need for safer, cleaner and more reliable energy supply.

In the end of 2011 the laboratory facility was opened in the Sagamihara Incubation Center (SIC-3) and in April 2012 the first version of the equipment for production of buffer tapes and superconducting wires was installed. The first 50m long wire with the critical current of 300A was demonstrated in August 2012 and sales of commercial products started by the last quarter of 2012.

2011 March 11 Decision to establish R&D and 2G-HTS wire manufacturing company in Japan.
2011 July 14 SuperOx Japan LLC was officially registered.
2011 September 1 Chief Executive Officer was appointed.
2011 November 1 Director of Research and Development was hired.
2011 October Started design and manufacturing the production equipment (AOV)
2011 December Relocation to Sagamihara Incubation Center (SIC-3) in Kanagawa prefecture
2012 March Beginning of equipment installation: RF and DC magnetron sputtering, ion beam assisted deposition (IBAD), pulsed laser deposition (PLD), characterization and testing equipment.
2012 July –
2013 June
R&D program on development of original 2G-HTS wire architecture and production technology.
2013 July Started hiring regular employees
2013 September 9 Submitted patent on SuperOx wire architecture (PCT/JP2013/005336)
2013 September 15 Presentation of SuperOx 2G-HTS wires and manufacturing process at “European Conference on Applied Superconductivity 2013” (EUCAS-2013)
